Our Mission
The Altheimer Memorial GMAC Program is an enrichment tutoring program designed to provide a comprehensive academic support service for K - 7 students who live in the Hill Top Community and surrounding areas of Tacoma. The program provides a positive, stimulating, and safe environment to enhance learning and help students experience personal and academic success. In the GMAC program, students will build skills in Math, Reading and Written Language. They will also strengthen their self-esteem and self-respect.

EMPOWERMENT
The goal of GMAC is to empower students to be leaders and build upon their skill base by providing additional, special, or remedial academic instruction and guidance by certified teachers
Our Program
GMAC provides a five (5) week program for children.

Swimming Classes
Arts & Crafts Classes

Weekly Field Trips

Our Objectives

To assist the learning process for students during the summer to maximize the academic retention rate for grades K - 9.

To assist students in improving vocabulary skills, reading comprehension and fluency.

To assist students in note taking, study skills, and strategies for studying for tests.

To assist students in learning the skills necessary to successfully write anything from a simple paragraph to a lengthy essay.

To engage students in field trips for exposure to the environment relative to Math, Science and Historical events that have occurred locally and abroad.

To involve high school and middle school students in cross-age tutoring by engaging as mentors and interns.
